All music by Matthew Schoening Matthew Schoening has been a musician since he can remember. His parents are both musicians, and he grew up around music. His Father, John Schoening, plays viola in the San Francisco Symphony. Matthew started cello in Middle School, and learned to play in the school's Orchestra. He played through his Freshman year in High School, and was studying with Barbara Andres (San Francisco Symphony). Sophomore year, he put the cello down from lack of motivation, partly due to a diminishing music department. In 2002 he picked the cello up again and it has become his primary instrument.
